Prevention is a MINDSET

Many of us regret after something gone wrong. It is not uncommon because preventive thinking is not easy. The other reason is we cannot predict everything so we rely on corrective action. But the recent case made me to think about preventive action once again. After recent case of attack on a lady in an unguarded ATM at Bangalore, the authorities decided to close ATMs which does not meet some security guidelines. It is not a bad decision but again i thought of the other case which is linked to this. Few years back , it was made mandatory that all Malls/public places should have metal detectors OR doors which every visitor has to pass through. Recently i visited many such places and these devices were kept just as a formality and no one bother to care even it was alarming (Except in Airports). They all just follow the regulations without any conviction. Same happens when some road accident happens. Without even looking at root causes , we just introduce some road humps or extra signals. The same is applicable to our personal lives also.

 Food for thought

a) Why our mind dont think about preventive actions - Be it our health or Profession
Recently i heard someone was mentioning that we think more on medicare than healthcare !
b) Corrective actions are not BAD but it should not happen like the metal detectors at Malls. Why we are no negligent about such systems which protect us from terrorist attacks?
